Registration Policy

  • Entry fees for the Star Wars Half Marathon Events, Commemorative Items, or any other Star Wars Half Marathon event(s) related purchases are non-refundable.
  • Disney reserves the right to refuse the entry into, and/or revoke any registration for, any race for any reason in its sole discretion with refund of any applicable registration fees being the sole remedy of any such refusal and/or revocation.
  • Registrations may be transferred within the same race weekend, to a different race distance, as long as the desired race distance is not sold out. The Guest must first register for the new event for the transfer to be valid; any difference in registration price the for a lesser distance (if any) will then be refunded, less a $45 transfer processing fee.
  • Transfers are not allowed for 5Ks, runDisney Kids Races or sold out events.
  • All races are non-transferable between individuals, between event weekends, and to events that have reached capacity/sold-out.
  • Race entries/bibs are not transferrable from one person/participant to another person/participant. Sale, trade and/or transfer of race entry/bib number is strictly prohibited and may result in the disqualification of and/or banning offenders from participating at future events. Anyone caught attempting to sell or transfer their race entry/bib to another person/participant, pick up another person's/participant's race entry/bib, or participate in a race using another participant's race entry/bib, will have said race entry/bib cancelled and/or revoked, be disqualified, and be removed from the race without refund.
  • Request a transfer.

  • Participants for the Star Wars Half Marathon must be 14 years of age or older.
  • Participants for the Star Wars 10K must be 10 years of age or older.
  • You must be 5 years of age on race day to participate in the Star Wars 5K. Each participant must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
  • runDisney Kids Race distances are determined by age group for kids 8 and under.

Please remember, Proof of Time must be provided by January 19, 2017.

runDisney proof of time guidelines:

If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon in less than 2:45 hours, proof of time is required for start corral placement. Star Wars Dark Side Challenge participants should adhere to Half Marathon proof of time requirements. Proof of time is not required for the 5K and 10K races. Please reference the Race Pacing Chart below for finish times and associated pacing per mile. Please note we do not accept self-timed runs.

  • Proof of time must be provided from an officially timed race reflecting results on or after April 1, 2015 and must be one of the below listed distances. Runners will be placed in the last corral if the appropriate race distance is not submitted for Proof of Time.
    • Half Marathon – 10K, 12K, 15K, 10 Mile, Half Marathon or Marathon
  • A valid proof of time provided at the time of registration must include the following*:
    • Name of Race
    • Distance
    • City
    • State
    • Date
    • Finish time
    • Link to Results

  • For starting corral placement, proof of time must be submitted by the participant for each individual race.
  • If proof of time is not provided by January 19, 2017, data provided is incomplete or cannot be verified, you will be placed in the last start corral. We do not accept self-timed, training or virtual runs.
  • No corral changes will be made after January 19, 2017.
  • Past runDisney races may be used as proof of time, however they are not automatically input for your race registration.

Pacing Requirements

  • 16 minute per mile pace for all athletes in the Star Wars Half Marathon, Star Wars 10K and the Star Wars 5K
  • Half Marathon and 10K are timed events using the ChronoTrack B-tag timing system.
  • The Star Wars 5K is NOT a timed event but in order to receive a finisher medal, participants must maintain a 16 minute per mile pace requirement.
  • Runners unable to maintain the pace may be picked up at any point along the course and transported to the course pick-up tent.
  • A training pace of 15-minute per mile pace is recommended to allow for photo and restroom breaks.
  • Pace Cyclists will be on the course indicating when runners are behind pace by waving light wands at each mile markers according to the official pace time. If you reach a mile marker with a light wand waving, please note you are behind the required 16-minute per mile pace and can be picked up at any time and transported to the course pick up tent.

gEAR Bag Check

gEAR Bag Check is available for the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K.

  • A clear plastic gEAR bag will be issued to you at Packet Pick-Up to be used for gEAR Bag Check service. No other bag will be accepted.
  • A numbered gEAR bag check sticker will be given to you at Packet Pick-Up. Place the sticker in the clearly defined area on your clear plastic bag prior to arriving at gEAR Bag Check.
  • At race completion, your race number will be used to verify your bag when you pick it up.
  • Valuable items should not be checked.
  • The Event Staff is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

runDisney Race Photos

Disney PhotoPass Photographers will be on the course and at the finish line taking your picture during the race. Remember to smile and keep your race number uncovered and in clear view.

Race photos will be available to preview at (select Walt Disney World) and in the My Disney Experience mobile app within 24 hours of the event. To link your photos, you will need to enter the 11-digit RaceID from your race followed by your 5-digit bib number. If your bib number is less than 5 digits, please add zeros at the beginning of your bib number to complete the 16-digit code.
