ChEARs To The 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend – Now A Virtual Event!

Just like you, we have been counting down the days to the run Disney 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! We’d like to share that this year’s event will be taking on a new form – it’s now a virtual event! Although the weekend events won’t take place at Walt Disney World this year, we are still excited to see how runners experience the new virtual version – right from their own neighborhood, home gym or wherever they choose to run!

With seven races and three challenges celebrating a star-studded cast of classic Disney characters, participants will look forward to virtual fun and excitement and, of course, MEDALS. Get ready to put the pedal to the metal with a look at this year’s event themes:

Not registered for the January event? We are opening additional registration opportunities on September 24 at 10 a.m. ET on a limited basis for Guests who wish to participate in the virtual Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend events. We’re excited to share a first look at the BLING virtual runners can expect to receive:

All registered participants will receive an email from runDisney, and those with a valid U.S. shipping address will be given the option to transfer their event registration to the Virtual Event. Runners may opt for a refund instead.
