Move along runners, it’s just about time for the Virtual 2021 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend presented by OtterBox. You’ve finished the last of your training runs and now you’re ready to set your sights on race day. Wherever your virtual running adventures may take you, give yourself a little motivation along the way with a Star Wars-inspired ‘cheer card’, perfect for keeping your eyes on the target.

Here’s how we made ours:

First, start by gathering some crafting supplies. Poster board along with markers, paint, balloons and glitter all make for great ‘cheer card’ accessories. You can typically find most of these supplies at your local craft or dollar store.

Next, find your favorite saying or quote from the Star Wars film to decorate your sign with. Need a little inspiration? We’ve rounded up some of the inspiring words from the Star Wars characters found in this year race themes – check those out here.

Last, plan your virtual race route and strategically place your signs at key miles you might need a little extra encouragement. Make sure to check out your route in advance so that you avoid placing signs in private areas.
