Prepare to Rule the Road with OFF®!
Warm weather? Yes, please! Now that it’s time to get outside in the not-so-Frozen weather to train for the runDisney Virtual Series, let’s make sure you have everything you need to rule the road. As you’re putting together your 5K-prep checklist, our friends at OFF!® want to ensure you aren’t forgetting one outdoor essential to help keep runners’ pesky enemy at bay: mosquitoes! Bug repellent is an often-unremembered item that is a must-have before your next run. So, before you begin your training, OFF!® experts have some Olaf-approved tips to help keep your skin protected.
- Be prepared for your epic journey : Make sure you know the conditions before heading out on your adventure. Just as you check the weather to dress appropriately, you can also check your local mosquito forecast with OFF!Cast™ to prepare and plan ahead. OFF!Cast™ is a first of its kind model that predicts local mosquito populations by ZIP code up to seven days in advance, so runners can figure out the best day to put in those miles.
- PREtect yourself before mosquitoes start biting : Prevention is the ‘magical’ protection. Incorporate a PREtection ritual ahead of your next run by applying insect repellent after sunscreen as a final step in your pre-run routine. OFF!®’s new Clean Feel repellent has no greasy feel or odor. It’s a great addition that will give you protection from mosquitoes, ticks and biting flies that lasts for up to eight hours.
- Beware of the Brush : Running on trails, prairie paths and under trees can hide more unwanted insects: ticks. Runners’ training in these areas should be PREtected with insect repellent before their journey.
- Stay PREtected while active: Queen Elsa might have been born with the power of ice and snow, but us princes and princesses only release sweat, body heat and carbon dioxide when we run, attracting mosquitoes and other insects. Stay protected when participating in sports or outdoor activities, like training for the runDisney Virtual Series, that make you breathe harder by applying insect repellent before heading out for your activity and re-applying as directed on the label.
Follow these tips for insect-free running, and you’re ready to Let it Go! Good luck!
