The weekend we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! The Virtual 2020 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is finally here and will be one for the books! We hope we can bring you a few ways you and your family can add a little extra magic to your weekend as you get ready to runDisney, no matter what the race! We want to help you make the runDisney Kids Races presented by GoGo squeeZ® an event your kids won’t want to miss! And for everyone else who is a kid at heart, we think you’ll love these ideas too!! Here are some easy and fun ways to bring the magic home as you get Ready…Set…GoGo!!!

Take time to prepare for your run! Training for the big day is always important and is a great way to make sure you are ready for race day! Take practice laps in your neighborhood and always stretch before you run! Make sure you are drinking lots of water and eating healthy too! Make healthy snack choices like GoGo squeeZ Applesauce to help you fuel your body before or after your run! The big race day will begin to be a day to look forward to!

Pick out your running outfit! In true runDisney style, you should definitely plan what you are going to wear! Plan out your race day attire with some Disney Character-inspired style or even as simple as adding some ears to any outfit! Make sure you have your running shoes laced up and ready to run for the big day too!

Print Virtual Race Kits! The best part of any race is looking official! runDisney has made is super easy to print your own race kit at home! From Start and Finish Lines to Mile Markers for each race distance, bibs or cheer cards, you will be ready to run your race in true Disney Villain style. To download yours today, head to the “Manage Account”section on the runDisney website. From the dashboard, click on “Your Registrations” and select Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.

** Parent Tip! Kids always love to personalize things! It’s fun and easy to make your own too! A ½ piece of card stock paper and some markers will have your personalized bib ready in no time! Make sure to add an official number (we like number 1) and pin it on for race day!

Make Your Disney Playlist! Hook up your Bluetooth speaker and get motivated with the help of a few iconic evildoers and give your at-home run a villainous vibe with these frighteningly famous songs from the Disney Villains. Head over to Spotify and Apple Music to download tunes specially curated by our friends at Walt Disney Records.

Make a Finish Line to Cross! Fun art project alert! Make a finish line that is something special to cross! A little creativity will have you engineering a fun (and breakable) finish line to cross when you’ve accomplished your race! Get creative with what you have at home!

** Parent Tip: Birthday balloons and cray paper make a great finish line to run through!

Make Your Own Race Bling! Yes, the accomplishment of just finishing every race is amazing, but so are the awesome runDisney medals you’ll have earned! While you wait for your official runDisney medal to come in the mail, we made some fun medals to wear using foil, cardboard and ribbon! It is such an accomplishment no matter the distance.

Race Day! Ready…Set…GOGO!!! The big day is here! Gather your fans (brothers, sister, Mom and Dad) and take turns running your race! Or run all together! Cheer each other on and celebrate each person crossing their finish line! Don't forget to take pictures with your medal after the race is over and have your parents post them on social media using the #ReadySetGoGo hashtag so we can celebrate you too! You earned it!

Hope that these ideas inspire you to create some at-home magic by remembering that feeling you get when you accomplish anything you set your mind to! Until the next runDisney Kids Races!
