A Picture Perfect runDisney Cast Member Spotlight!

It’s a week of sharing gratitude amongst family and friends and what better way for us at runDisney to celebrate than to highlight part of the team that brings the events to life. These events wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of the runDisney team working hard to create a one-of-a-kind experience to all our runners.

Today we are excited to highlight one of those cast members, Melissa, a race day Disney Photopass Photographer. As part of her role, she gets to capture on course magical moments for our runners to be able to relive their experiences.

Melissa began her Disney journey in 2016 with the Disney Photopass team. She shared that photography is a personal hobby of hers and sports photography is her favorite because the action is non-stop. “I love being a photographer because of the people. You get to capture moments and seasons in people’s lives that they only get once most of the time. You get to give people something tangible they can hold onto for the rest of their lives.”

runDisney events are some of her favorites to work, so much so that she has only missed a few since she first started her role. The best part of the races for her is the overall energy and happiness of the runners that she gets to capture as they run through the course.

Not only are the runners what make the role special for her, it’s her team and her leadership. “They created family in a workplace like I have never experienced before. It changed my life and because of it, I have friendships I’ll cherish for the rest of my life,” Melissa shares. “I came to Disney looking for a career in sports photography and found so much more!”
