Spectator Info


Spectators help runners by motivating them during their training and cheering them on during their runs.  As a spectator, you play a huge part in the success of your runner.  The ChEAR Squad offers several spectator packages from reserved viewing areas to VIP treatment in the Race Retreat.

Be sure to read the helpful tips on arriving to the race and parking on race day as well as the additional information about viewing your runner in the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks.



ChEAR Squad


Now’s here’s something to ChEAR about!  As a spectator, you can be a part of Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend when you join the ChEAR Squad and support your runner ! You’ll even get  inside information and tips about race weekend and much, much more.



Runner Tracking

Family and friends will be able to track participants with live online runner tracking for the half marathon. Participants will have the opportunity to send split times via email, text messaging, and PDAs by registering for this service on the website. You can also sign up for runner tracking at runDisney Health & Fitness Expo.


Runner Tracking will be available a few weeks before the race.



Viewing Your Runner


You can view your runner in a number of different areas along the Half Marathon course including the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks and the Finish Line area.


Viewing Your Runner during the 5K and 10K

Spectators will be able to see their runner at the start line and finish line. The Finish Line is located in the Imagine Lot of Epcot® . There will be no runner viewing along the course.


Viewing Your Runner during the Half Marathon


There are a number of different areas along Disney Princess Half Marathon course including the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks and the Finish Line area where you can view your runner.


Magic Kingdom® Park

Spectators will be able to see their runner run through the Magic Kingdom® Park near Cinderella Castle (Mile 5.3). This location will be open at 5:30 a.m. You do not need a ticket to enter the Magic Kingdom® Park, but to enter the ChEAR Zone area, you will need a ChEAR Zone wristband.


To reach the Magic Kingdom® Park spectator area from Epcot®, walk from the start of the monorail station at Epcot® and ride it to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Exit the monorail, walk down the ramp and follow the overhead signs for the monorail to Magic Kingdom® Park. Ride the monorail to Magic Kingdom® Park and exit the platform heading towards the Magic Kingdom® Park entrance. Proceed through the entrance and Main Street U.S.A. toward Cinderella Castle, where you will find the spectator area.


Finish Line


Spectators for the half marathon can see their runners again at the Finish Line. There will be a limited number of complimentary seats along the Finish Line available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reserved seating is available for purchase through our ChEAR Squad.


The Finish Line is located in the Imagine Lot of Epcot® . To reach the finish line from Magic Kingdom® Park, take the monorail back to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Exit the monorail and follow the signs for the monorail to Epcot® . Ride the monorail back to Epcot® and upon arriving, walk down the ramp and exit to your left towards the parking lots. The Imagine Lot and Finish Line area will be on your right.



Parking


Athletes and spectators should plan on arriving at Epcot® by 4:00 a.m. on race morning. The main entrance of Epcot® from World Drive will be closed to all traffic from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on the mornings of the Half Marathon.  All traffic will be directed to the Magic Kingdom® Park Parking Lot where they will be transported to Epcot® via monorail.

Parking at Epcot® is free before 7:00 a.m. If you arrive afterward, you will be charged the daily parking fee.
